James Bartelett

James Bartelett, formerly the Design Manager at Innermost's Hong Kong office, is a product designer celebrated for his experimental approach to materials and his commitment to hands-on craftsmanship. A graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University, Bartelett joined Innermost in 2008, where he developed a reputation for exploring unconventional materials like cast concrete and plaster. His standout creation, the Portland Lamp, exemplifies his approach, using raw textures and bold forms to create an industrial aesthetic that brings depth and intrigue to modern interiors.

In 2023, Bartelett transitioned to the role of Chief Design Officer at Chelsom Limited, but his work with Innermost remains emblematic of his ability to blend material experimentation with functionality. Known for his attention to detail and willingness to engage in every stage of production, Bartelett’s designs offer a refreshing balance of precision and creativity.
