Born in Cremona, Italy in 1966, Giulio Iacchetti is an Italian industrial designer and artistic director. Alongside his design portfolio, he also teaches at a wide range of schools and universities. Iacchetti originally studied at Milan School of Architecture, before leaving to complete his military service. Upon his return to Italy, he continued his studies in Industrial Design at Lombardy Region Professional Training School.

His professional career as an industrial designer began in 1992 and since then he has collaborated with various influential brands such as Foscarini, Fontana Arte and Artemide. In 2001 he won the Compasso d’Oro ADI prize with the Moscardino multi-purpose cutlery, which is part of the permanent design collection at the MoMA in New York. In 2014, he won his second Compasso d’Oro Award. Iacchetti believes that it is important for designers working in Italy to incorporate Italian craftsmanship into their work. Thus, in November 2012, he launched Internoitaliano in Milan — a production system constituted by a network of workshops and manufacturing companies that embody the excellence of Italian design.

"I believe that in the core of every person, there is this desire to achieve simplicity." - Giulio Iacchetti
