Francesca Smiraglia

Francesca Smiraglia is an Italian designer, born in 1983. She studied industrial design at Politecnico di Milano, where she specialised in product and lighting design and graduated in 2008. Smiraglia is well known for her desire to constantly improve upon her knowledge, whilst developing new methodologies of design, utilising this skill to excel in her work as a lighting designer.

She lives and works in Milan, mainly for Interior design, retail and hospitality industries and also as a product designer in particular thinking of products that explore the conceptual and anthropological sphere. Her pieces explore the relationship between humans and the environment. In 2016 Smiraglia opened her own studio, with the goal of creating an agency dedicated to design and artistic direction in the sectors of product design, lighting design, interior design, illustration and brand identity.

During her time at her agency, Francesca Smiraglia has collaborated with some large brands in the lighting world; including Modoluce, Karboxx, Formagenda and Forma Lighting.
