Ferran Freixa Jové was born in Menarguens in 1922 and in 1947 began studying to be a quantity surveyor, but ended up graduating in technical architecture. After his studies, he collaborated with numerous influential architects such as Martinell, Bonet Garí, Bonet Armengol and Sostres. In 1959 he founded his company Best Form, where he collaborated with designers, editing and publishing their work.

In 1961 Ferran Freixa Jové won the first-ever ADI-FAD Golden Delta for the N-4 lamp, part of the Nagoya series, and in 1962 he won a Silver Delta for a wall lamp design. In 1967 he became involved with the ADI-FAD and in 1968 he officially became a design partner at the organisation. Ferran Freixa Jové was technically skilled and constantly experimented with new designs, leading his work to win numerous awards and put his name at the forefront of Spanish design.

During the 1980s he worked with Antoni de Moragas on restoring a number of monuments that had been taken down at the end of the Spanish Civil War, including the monument to Rafael Casanovas, the monument to Francesc Layret and the monument to Doctor Robert.
