Eugeni Quitllet is a Catalan designer, born in Ibiza in 1972. He studied at Ibiza Art School and specialised in Design and Interior Design, before graduating in 1996. Quitllet fell in love with the design field, specifically combining form and function whilst experimenting with technology and innovation.
He has a keen interest in the topic of weightlessness which can be seen throughout his work, and he releases objects from physical restraints. Quitllet creates elegant silhouettes and is described as a multi-faceted designer, in 2001 he met Phillipe Starck and the pair designed a range of iconic products together including the Kartell Masters Chair.
In 2016 Eugeni Quitllet was elected Designer of the Year by Maison & Objet in Paris. Alongside this acknowledgement, he has also won a plethora of awards, such as the Good Design Award (2010), the Red Dot Design Award (2013) and the ADI Compasso d'Oro (2020).
