Esben Klint was born in 1915 in Java, Indonesia. He was the son of Kaare Klint, the famous Danish architect who, alongside his brother, developed the Le Klint brand. In 1934, Esben Klint completed his carpentry apprenticeship. After graduating from the School of Master Builders he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. In addition to his formal education, Esben Klint worked with his father, taking the opportunity to learn from him.

As well as being a designer, Esben Klint was a family man and a talented cook. He loved cooking various dishes for his wife and three children. He was a keen traveller and enjoyed learning about different architectural styles worldwide, using this as inspiration in his work. He was driven and meticulous, just like his father. His wallet was always full of sketches and new ideas for designs. One of the most notable tasks he undertook was the completion of the organ façade in Grundtvig's Church in Copenhagen. It was originally designed and created by P.V. Jensen-Klint before his son Kaare Klint continued working on the construction. After the passing of Kaare Klint, Esben Klint made the final touches, completing the work that spanned over three generations. As a tribute to Esben Klint, Le Klint produced the Model 375 table lamp which is a reinterpretation of one of Esben Klint’s original designs.
