Davide Groppi

Davide Groppi was born in 1936 in Italy. Groppi started his work in a small laboratory in the historical centre of the Italian town of Piacenza during the late 1980s. Davide Groppi was inventing and producing his first lamps and decided to use his name for the company. Creative independence and passionate, unconventional management have allowed him, over time, to learn and develop his brand of original and unique products, currently distributed the world over.

Simplicity, weightlessness, emotion, creative invention, and amazement are the fundamental components of every lamp or lighting project designed by Davide Groppi. His creations are not merely conceived as lights or lamps but come into existence through the need to deliver something necessary or significant. These ideas are inspired by works of art, ready-made objects, magic, the desire to create things with his hands, or simply the urge to play and have fun with light.
