Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architectural partnership founded in 1995 by Marten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. The company began as an architecture firm but after a short period of time they branched out into design. Together they have worked on personal homes, offices, furniture lighting and even glassware. This work has been produced for more than 80 international manufacturing companies.
Over the years Claesson Koivisto Rune have written, taught and lectured internationally. They carry an outstanding reputation worldwide and carry an extensive portfolio. Which means it is not that surprising that they have won more than 60 prestigious awards, such as; Designer of the Year (2011), Furniture of the Year (2012), Designer of the Year (2014), Best Seating (2015) and even the Bruno Mathsson Award in 2015, which is the highest honour in furniture design in Sweden. They were even the first ever Swedish architectural office to be invited to exhibit at the Venice Biennale of Architecture in 2004.
"It is about understatement, trying not to shout too much, doing things which are low-key, which should last a long time, which should work and be useful." - Eero Koivisto
