Chiaramonte Marin is an Italian design studio, founded in 1989 by Alfredo Chiaramonte and Marco Marin.
Alfredo Chiaramonte was born in Bologna in 1961. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture of Venice before going on to design for a range of brands across the globe. Marco Marin was born in Venice in 1964. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts where he specialised in Industrial Design.
The design duo both boast impressive backgrounds in different aspects of design, this provides them with a mixture of knowledge and their individual skill sets complement each other expertly. They share a passion for objects that stand out in interior spaces.
"There was a phase in which companies chose to minimize the care of the aesthetics of the lamp by focusing on the aesthetic aspects, perhaps at an excessive level. Now I would say that we are more in a phase of research of the lamp as a sculptural object, often also of large dimensions. Of course, these objects must in any case perform their function and therefore illuminate adequately. - Marco Marin
