Bruno Rainaldi

Bruno Rainaldi
Bruno Rainaldi was an Italian designer born in Milan in 1952, he began his venture into the design world at a young age and defined himself as a 'street designer'. Rainaldi's training came from hands-on work in the field instead of from an academic setting, allowing him to experiment with techniques.

In the mid-1980s he founded Studio Rari, where he began collaborating as artistic director with a range of major Italian design companies. In his early years in Milan Rainaldi managed the first High-Tech emporium in Corso di Porta Ticinese, before working alongside Maddalena De Padova and then with Enrico Baleri as a partner in Baleri & Associati.

In 2002 Bruno Rainaldi founded ENTRATALIBERA with Marta Giardini, which was categorised as a unique space in the heart of Milan which is dedicated to the world of design and design culture, sales and encounters. Rainaldi's dedication to the field of design as well as his much adored work led him to be awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 2004 for the Ptolomeo bookshelf. In 2006, together with the very young Lapo Ciatti, who had just entered the family business, he founded Opinion Ciatti, of which Bruno Rainaldi was President, partner and art director. Sadly in 2011, Bruno Rainaldi passed away.
