Bjørn + Balle

Bjorn and Balle are a well known design duo, consisting of Christian Bjorn and Rune Balle. They are based in Copenhagen, Denmark and specialise in product design, lighting design, furniture design and exhibitions. Their designs easily blend Scandinavian minimalism with modern trends, which has led to successful collaborations with both national and international clients.

Christian Bjorn has been a crucial figure in Danish design since the 1970's, he founded his design studio in 1974 and Christian Bjorn Industrial Design in 2002. He has been Chairman of Danish Design Centre for many years.

Rune Balle is educated in Industrial Design and Furniture, graduating from the Danish Design School and won first prize at the Bent Krogh Awards in 1996. Balle opened his own studio, in the centre of Denmark, where he creates industrial and aesthetic products.
