BCXSY are an Amsterdam based design collective, founded in early 2007 by Boaz Cohen (born in Israel, 1978) and Sayaka Yamamoto (born in Japan, 1984). They both take an interdisciplinary approach to design and have spent years working on furniture, installation and lighting design.
Cohen moved to The Netherlands in 2001, and studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven from 2001 until 2006, alongside his studies he spent two years interning with Walter Van Beirendonck until 2005. Yamamoto graduated from the Hiko Mizuno Jewelry College in Tokyo in 2005, she then moved to the Netherlands where she studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven’s Man & Identity program, graduating in 2008.
The work of BCXSY is delicate with an added essence of wit and humour, their focus lies in showcasing emotion and enhancing the human experience. The studio has worked with numerous global brands and they have an exceptional reputation. BCXSY’s work is a consistently contemporary expression, with modern-day technology often standing alongside traditional materials and craftsmanship.
