Andreas Kowalewski

Andreas Kowalewski was born in Berlin. He began his path in design as a cabinetmaker apprentice, after which he went on to study Industrial Design at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. Since his graduation in 2006, he has developed products, furniture and lighting for some of the leading companies in the design field. In 2012, Andreas founded his Amsterdam-based studio, where he works on various design solutions, covering the overall spectrum of the design process.

Andreas’ work is strongly influenced by his passion for experimenting with materials, construction principles and innovative technologies. This individual is highly motivated by an unwavering ambition to create design solutions that are not only visually appealing but also have a deep meaning behind them. He believes that design should be a tool to simplify and reduce complexity in everyday life. He strives to achieve this goal by using as little material as possible in his designs, thus reducing waste and promoting sustainability. He understands the importance of creating designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also serve a purpose and make a positive impact on society.
