Alessandro Zambelli

Alessandro Zambelli is an innovative Italian designer known for his offbeat, “art-like” designs. He studied industrial design and materials engineering at the Cova School of Design in Milan and, after spending several years in Milan, moved to Mantua. His work is continually inspired by the Mantua countryside and the rich history of the territory. In addition to referencing nature, his designs also reflect his passion for new materials and technologies. Zambelli never thinks of his work as being purely about the style. He constantly researches the interactions between humans, objects, and the environment.

Alessandro Zambelli founded his studio in 2003, where he has explored various design fields including industrial inventions, installations, product designs, and manual experimentations. His experience in different fields of design assist him in creating pieces that are intuitive and experimental, often referencing history, symbolism and culture. His designs have won various awards including the European Consumer Choice 2011, the NYIGF Award 2012, and the Premio dei Premi 2015.
