Alberto Saggia & Valerio Sommella

Alberto Saggia is an Italian designer, born in Novara in 1978. He graduated from Politecnico di Milano in 2004, with a degree in Industrial Design and specialising in the field of lighting. Saggia began working for Metis Lighting, a well-known studio in Milan, upon his graduation and until 2018 Saggia was Senior Lighting Designer at the company. He launched his own design consultancy business in 2009 and has also been the Creative Director and Co-Founder of Anonima Luci since 2018.

Valerio Sommella is also an Italian designer, who was born in Cortona in 1980 and also went on to graduate from Politecnico di Milano in 2004, upon his graduation he began his career working for Stefano Giovannoni for numerous years until he moved to Amsterdam in 2007 and began a career with Marcel Wanders' team. In 2009, Sommella decided to open his own studio, so he relocated back to Milan where his studio is currently located. Over the years he has taken on projects with companies such as Apple, Moooi, KDLN, Honda, Panasonic and many others.

Since 2009 the pair have collaborated specifically on lighting and product design, they combine a technical vision with an aesthetic approach based on formal, material, technological and functional innovation.
