Orsjo Belysning is a Swedish lighting company founded in 1948 by Simon Jonsson, Sture Jonsson and Edvin Thoren. They excel in the field of Scandinavian design and produce lamps with a focus on functionality, innovation and personality. Their work has been created by some of Scandinavia's best designers.
Orsjo began as a production hug for small metal components such as fabric stretcher clips for the textiles industry and blowpipe tips for the glass industry. They began developing lamps for IKEA in 1952, and after the company was bought by Jan Sundberg in the 1960's they began their evolution as an emerging name in the world of design.
All of their lights are produced by hand, and they have even been one of few companies to be awarded with an Eco-Swan certification - for their commitment to reducing environmental damage throughout their creation process.
