Founded in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni, Oluce is the oldest Italian lighting design company still in operation, blending over seven decades of craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless style. Its journey began with early recognition at the IX Triennale di Milano in 1951 and has since been defined by collaborations with legendary designers like Joe Colombo, Vico Magistretti, Tito Agnoli, and Marco Zanuso. Iconic creations such as the Atollo lamp, Acrilica table lamp, and Spider collection have not only won prestigious awards, including the Compasso d’Oro, but have also become fixtures in the permanent collections of museums like MoMA in New York.


Oluce’s designs transcend trends, achieving a rare balance of tradition and modernity. Under the Verderi family’s leadership in the 1970s, and with Vico Magistretti as art director, the brand evolved to embrace new materials, technologies, and forms while maintaining its signature aesthetic. Contemporary designers such as Nendo, Victor Vasilev, and Giopato & Coombes continue to expand the company’s legacy, ensuring it remains at the forefront of global design while honouring its heritage.
