Once again, the David Village Lighting team ventured over to Milan last week, to attend the 31st edition of Euroluce, an international lighting exhibit. The Italian exhibition presents both domestic and commercial lighting, as well as furniture. Euroluce is a great way for members of the team to experience the magic of some of our products up close; as well as grabbing a sneak peak at some upcoming releases from the worlds biggest brands.
Every single brand created an immersive experience as we made our way through the beautiful displays, featuring set ups from huge names such as Tom Dixon, Artemide, Flos, Moooi and Kartell. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to interact with some of our long term partners, as well as discovering a collection of new brands that are starting to take the design world by storm!
We are here to give you a run through of all the gorgeous new releases we had the honour of viewing whilst in Milan. Some are available now and some will be released later this year.
Moooi
Moooi have some beautiful new releases for 2023, and as always they are guaranteed to catch your eye. The main event during our trip to this stand was the Moooi Pallana, designed by IDEO. This LED suspension is made up of adjustable round light sources that grant the user full flexibility and results in a playful task light for above dining spaces. The Moooi Pallana LED Suspension is available in two muted colours, making it easy for them to match a wider range of interior styles. As always, the Heracleum broadcasts its natural form and proved exactly why it's so popular. Moooi also showcased some bold new seating solutions, including the Hortensia Armchair and the Knitty Lounge Chair which were both favourites amongst our team.
Tom Dixon
Tom Dixon had an exciting collection of new releases at their stand! New for 2023 is the evolution of the Melt collection; soon to be available as a table lamp and a portable lamp. Portables are clearly a strong focus for Tom Dixon this year, as we will also soon see the release of a Stone Portable Lamp and the Bell Portable Lamp; allowing you to take your favourite lamps from room to room.
The Tom Dixon team class 2023 as the year of choice, with the soon to be released option to customise your Melt, Globe and Mirrorball lights like never before. Both the diffuser and body of their bestselling lighting solutions can be alternated - allowing you to create a light that broadcasts your personality.
Flos
Flos arrived at Euroluce with the goal of creating a wonderfully immersive experience for all guests, and they succeeded. Every aspect of their display was eye catching and we were guided on an exciting journey to meet the new lighting designs; we couldn't help but become overwhelmed with excitement for their new releases. With a combination of architectural and playful releases, Flos unveiled Black Flag, Workmates, Emi, Bilboquet, Céramique and the 2097 in a white finish.
Their stand was displayed similar to that of a gallery, broadcasting each design as it's own work of art. It was that fascinating that they have even released a virtual tour for everybody who wishes to immerse themselves in the upcoming releases!

Artemide
The David Village Lighting team was incredibly excited to experience the new Artemide releases up close. The two most anticipated reveals were the Ixa collection and the Vine collection, two incredibly versatile ranges that allow an ease of flexibility. The Artemide Ixa collection was inspired by the sculptures of Alexander Calder, and designed by Foster + Partners. These lamps interpret the idea of ‘elegant balance’ through precision engineering. Vine also prides itself on the freedom of movement, boasting a perfectly balanced frame with two joints - and allowing the user full control over the direction of the illumination. The frame consists of one smooth and interrupted line, which eventually switches from metal body to integrated light source.
Kartell
Preparing for summer, the HIRAY seating collection offered a colourful new release for Kartell. Designed by Ludovica & Roberto Palomba, HIRAY proves that metal materials can be just as lightweight as plastic and is suitable for use indoor and outdoor environments. It was incredibly impressive to see the Tea Table Lamp in person, and be able to assess the intricate texture on the two shades, which result in the Tea casting beautiful shadows across its surroundings. The Tea is soon expanding into a wall light - releasing later this year!
The Khan Chandelier has also seen huge popularity since its release, a perfect example of when classic and modern styles overlap, boasting architectural expressions whilst still providing a luxurious atmosphere to your space.
The David Village Lighting team thoroughly enjoyed our time at Euroluce in Milan and we would like to say a huge thank you to all brands and representatives who took the time to show us around and share all of their technical knowledge with us.
Design events such as Euroluce are crucial for us to keep up to date with the latest releases and modern trends, providing us with more knowledge to pass on to all of our customers.
