3 Days of Design 2024: A Recap

Petite Friture

Our first visit was to French brand, Petite Friture, who previewed their new outdoor lighting at the beautiful location of Restaurant Babylon, perched on the water's edge of Copenhagen city's Peblinge Sø lake.

Suspended across an outdoor terrace was the upcoming Spline Light, a new design by David Derksen for Petitie Friture. An alternative to the traditional garland light, Spline is a fabric belt suspending a glowing LED tube, bringing a playful and enchanting look to any outdoor or indoor space. Spline is expected to launch in March 2025.

Displayed alongside the new Spline Light were the four new colour finishes of Petite Friture's Quasar portable lamp: blue, violet, green and grey. Quasar is IP54 rated, perfect for outdoor use in summer months, it can be taken with you on picnics, to the beach, or on a camping trip. The handy rope attached to the top of the lamp is not only a fun design feature, but allows you to suspend the lamp from a tree branch.

Nuura

The stunning Nuura showroom is a place of elegance and tranquility. Showcased alongside Nuura's existing products was their newest collection, Florii, which launches in September 2024. The elegant shades of the Florii collection represent the organic form of leaves, gracefully falling from branches. Each leaf holds a glowing sphere, creating a beautifully ambient lighting effect without glare. The collection includes a linear pendant and two wall lights.

An exciting addition to Nuura's Blossi collection is their first portable lamp, Blossi Mini, a petite version of their popular Blossi table lamp. Available from September 2024, Blossi Mini is a sophisticated design with a sleek glass shade and a gold or black body.

Audo Copenhagen

This year our team were excited for their first visit to Audo House, Audo Copenhagen's unique space, comprising of a hotel, showroom, event space, cafe and restaurant. Audo's upcoming releases were displayed in their showroom in beautiful room sets.

Among these new releases are two additions to Audo's ever popular Hashira collection by Norm Architects, which will be available from October 2024. The minimalist Hashira Linear Pendant is ideal over a dining table, creating an ambient diffused light for evening dinner parties. To complete the collection, Audo are releasing Hashira Ceiling Lamp.

The elegant Dancing Pendant by Ikos-Berlin will be available in a smaller size which is ideal for residential properties and smaller spaces, perfect above a dining table with its sound-absorbing qualities.

Another new release for Autumn 2024 we're excited to see is Reverse Table Lamp's sleek new finish of Carrara Marble and a high gloss, black shade, creating quiet luxury with its minimalist silhouette.

&Tradition

We're always excited to visit &Tradition's showroom, situated in a quirky 1913 Copenhagen four-story townhouse, creating the ideal backdrop for &tradition's iconic and new designs.

The classic Tripod HM8 floor lamp and Tripod HM9 table lamp by Hvidt & Mølgaard have been reworked to include a rotating shade. To expand the collection, &tradition are also adding a Tripod HM12 wall lamp. The refreshed Tripod collection is available from 28th August 2024.

Our favourite new release from &Tradition has to be the Flowerpot VP12 floor lamp, a new addition to the iconic Flowerpot collection by Verner Panton. The Flowerpot VP12 will initially be available in four colours: chrome-plated, cobalt blue, grey beige.

Louis Poulsen

2024 marks the 150th anniversary of Louis Poulsen. To celebrate, their showroom exhibited some antique, first edition Louis Poulsen designs alongside their anniversary collections and new releases.

Our team witnessed the intricate, hand-assembly process of the Anniversary Edition of the iconic PH Artichoke, a limited edition finish of gold and pale rose with only 300 pieces of each size made. Another limited edition coming in October 2024 is the PH2/1 Table Lamp, featuring dusty terracotta glass shades and an aged brass base which replicates the natural aging process of brass. Both limited editions will include the PH signature of the original designer, Poul Henningsen.

One of our favourite Louis Poulsen classics is the PH5 Pendant. In Autumn 2024, four new colours will join the PH5 collection: pale pewter, pale blush, burgandy, and dusty indigo.

Tom Dixon

This year was Tom Dixon's first exhibition at 3 Days of Design and it did not disappoint. They unveiled their new collection, Unbeaten, a reworking of their iconic Beat Collection, 20 years after its original release. Still handcrafted in India, the Unbeaten light range is made from recycled, smooth, spun aluminium and features all the original shade shapes from the Beat collection, but without the Beat's dimples. The Unbeaten Collection is anticipated for release in November 2024.

Our team also had a sneak preview of the Melt Outdoor light which is anticipated to be available from 2025, with a choice of a tripod base or a leather suspension strap.

A huge thank you to all of the brands that accommodated us at 3 Days of Design 2024, it was a pleasure to take in all of the knowledge and experience shared regarding a wide range of the products we stock. Design events such as 3DD are essential for us to keep up to date with the latest releases and on-trend themes, inspiring us to then pass on to you, our customers.

It was wonderful to be able to experience some of our bestsellers in person as well as getting a sneak peek at some upcoming releases. We already cannot wait until 3 Days of Design 2025!
